RWJF Healthy Kids 2005 conference focusing on keeping America's children safe, healthy, and addiction-free

The Foundation has made substantial investments in keeping America's children safe, healthy, and addiction-free. The purpose of this project, the RWJF Healthy Kids 2005 conference (HK 2005), is to provide a platform for sharing what has been learned from these investments. Key audiences include legislators and other decision makers, opinion leaders, youth development advocates, and the Washington area mass media. The conference will draw attention to several RWJF Addiction Prevention and Treatment programs and others managed by multiple Foundation staff teams. A special emphasis will be placed on honoring programs nearing the end of their work (i.e., Free to Grow, Reducing Underage Drinking Through Coalitions, and the Center on Alcohol Marketing & Youth). Join Together will be responsible for preparing a cornerstone report and coordinating conference activities. HK 2005 will be considered successful if the RWJF lessons learned are shared among programs and the RWJF grantees participate in sustainability sessions, advocacy trainings, and strategic meetings with their legislative representatives.
