Defining RWJF's scope of interest in frontline health and health care workers
There are approximately 11 million people employed in the provision of care and services in the U.S. health and health care system, many of whom are frontline workers. The purpose of this project is to help further define the population, occupational groups, and settings that make up the frontline workforce and help the Foundation staff's Human Capital Team focus on an area of interest for potential future investment. This project is one of the strategic investments the Team will be exploring with the frontline workforce, an integral part of an overall framework for this work. The project will be conducted in two phases. Phase I will help define the focus of the Human Capital Team, including identification and collection of basic data on the frontline workforce; Phase II will involve detailed analysis and presentation of data, both qualitative and quantitative, that will be collected from outside sources. This project will be considered successful if it results in a well defined area of exploration for future grantmaking.
