The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids will support a national campaign to reduce youth tobacco use through the established center that develops a national strategy, serves as a media center, provides technical assistance, and broadens organizational support to reduce youth tobacco use. This grant provides continued support for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, which was established in 1996 through major funding by the Foundation and the American Cancer Society. The mission of the Campaign is to reduce youth tobacco use and youth exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. The Center's three goals continue to be: (1) change social and environmental norms to reduce tobacco use and exposure among kids; (2) develop and achieve public policies that support eliminating tobacco use and exposure among kids; and (3) strengthen and mobilize the base of support working for tobacco control. In addition to these goals, the Campaign will develop and implement a financial sustainability plan.
