Covering Kids & Families communications campaign
The Foundation's program, Covering Kids and Families, was designed to increase the number of eligible children and adults who are benefiting from federal and state health care coverage programs. This program contract provides support for a one-year renewal of the Covering Kids and Families Communications Campaign (CKFCC). The project deliverables include a back-to-school campaign in 2003 directed at working families that are eligible for health coverage programs. CKFCC will: (1) inform low-income working Americans who are unaware that they and their children are eligible for public health coverage; (2) inform national and local opinion leaders about the value of SCHIP and Medicaid for working families; (3) increase the capacity of Covering Kids and Families (CKF) grantees and its corporate and national partners to continue outreach, enrollment, and re-enrollment activities beyond the back-to-school period; and, thereby, (4) build support among national and local opinion leaders for health coverage for all Americans. This project will be considered successful if it: (1) reaches eligible families and persuades them to enroll themselves and their children in SCHIP or Medicaid; (2) increases the number of working adults who understand that they and their children are eligible for coverage; (3) increases the capacity of CKF grantees and its corporate and national partners to conduct further outreach, enrollment, and re-enrollment activities; (4) increases awareness among opinion leaders of the value of SCHIP and Medicaid; and (5) increases support among opinion leaders for extending coverage to all Americans. CKFCC will be managed by Foundation staff.
