The Foundation's Innovators Combating Substance Abuse program was designed to highlight substance abuse as the nation's number one health problem by recognizing those who are striving to bring creative solutions to the field of substance abuse. The purpose of the Innovators Combating Substance Abuse (ICSA) program is to reward innovators in the field of substance abuse, especially those whose work may have gone outside the boundaries of activities typically funded by government or philanthropy because of its bold or unproven nature. The purpose of the Developing Leadership in Reducing Substance Abuse (DLRSA) program is to increase leadership capacity and build prestige in the substance abuse field by providing an intensive three-year leadership development and mentoring experience for individuals from the fields of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs. Under this program contract, M Booth & Associates, Inc., will work closely with Foundation staff and ICSA and DLRSA National Program Offices to maximize the communications efforts of each program and to continue to bring attention to the field of substance abuse.
