Stage-based, expert system-driven, smoking cessation program for low-income pregnant women

The Foundation's State Forums Partnership Program was designed to establish a technical assistance center to support the adoption of the New Jersey Policy Forums on Health and Medical Care project in up to eight states. This grant builds on the ongoing, previously funded work by allowing completion of the final phase of the pilot study. Specific aims of this project are to develop motivational enhancements and conduct formative evaluations based on the use of fetal ultrasound assessment, carbon monoxide measurement, and urine cotinine measurement in ethnically diverse, low-income pregnant women attending public maternity clinics.
