Supporting United Way of Central Jersey's fund drive, 2001-2002
Although the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation became a national philanthropy in 1972 and has operated on a national scale since then, it also has continued funding a limited number of local institutions and projects in the New Brunswick area and throughout New Jersey. It does so in part to honor the legacy of its founder, and in part to recognize the special responsibilities to the communities and the state in which it is located. This grant provides continued long-standing support for The United Way of Central New Jersey, which conducts the federated giving program for local voluntary, nonprofit community organizations in health and related fields in Middlesex County and also the bordering township of Franklin (adjacent to New Brunswick). The 2001-2002 campaign goal amounts to $4,785,000. The campaign will be considered successful if it reaches or exceeds this goal.
