Marketing communications and policy component of Translating Research to Practice: Improving Physical Activity Levels of Mid-Life and Older Adults

The Foundation's program, Active for Life: Increasing Physical Activity Levels in Adults Age 50 and Older, was designed to encourage adults 50+ to increase activity levels by replicating proven programs in real-world settings and identifying and testing communication strategies for the promotion of physical activity. The purpose of this project is to: (1) replicate and expand efficacious programs to reach a wider audience and foster sustainable changes in physical activity levels; (2) identify and test market communications strategies that could enhance motivation, readiness, self-efficacy, and social and community support; and (3) plan for a resource center of programs, technical assistance, and training. This grant supports the marketing communications and policy activities portion of the program.
