Facilitating communication among organizations using the National Blueprint: Increasing Physical Activity Among Older Adults Age 50 and Older
The National Blueprint: Increasing Physical Activity Among Adults Age 50 and Older was developed by the Foundation to serve as a guide for multiple organizations, associations, and agencies to inform, support planning work, and outline broad strategies related to increasing physical activity among America's aging population. In order to allow each participant organization to partner effectively with other organizations with similar goals, it is essential that an efficient infrastructure be in place to facilitate ongoing communication between participating agencies and organizations. This grant will provide the necessary infrastructure to facilitate communications and coordinate collaborative initiatives outlined in the Blueprint. The Active Aging Partnership coordinated by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the American College of Sports Medicine will convene meetings and facilitate the development, dissemination, and implementation of initiatives outlined in the Blueprint for Action. This project will be considered successful if it provides an infrastructure to facilitate ongoing communications between the Blueprint organizations and effectively coordinates joint initiatives among these organizations.
