Increasing sustained participation in walking clubs
This grant supports a six-month planning process to create a minimal contact intervention (brief-touch) strategy as part of the National Black Women's Health Project's (NBWHP) Walking for Wellness program. Local NBWHP chapters in several cities have created walking clubs that sponsor events and promote fitness. This project will plan the addition of a brief-touch support intervention and an evaluation of its effectiveness in sustaining participant involvement in the clubs.
