Caring Connections: An initiative to promote and expand consumer engagement in end of life care campaign (Phase 2)
The Foundation's Caring Connections initiative was designed as a communications campaign to improve care and caring near the end of life through activities focusing on advocacy, quality care, and consumer services. This grant provides renewal support for the Barksdale Ballard's component of Last Acts to continue to carry out the day-to-day work of Last Acts. Barksdale Ballard will continue to keep track of developments in the field and bring them to the attention of the campaign, prepare print materials for internal and external distribution, network with top leaders, and recruit and work with campaign Partners.They work closely with Foundation staff and the National Program Office to jointly plan specific campaign initiatives, coordinate activities, solve problems, and engage in strategic planning to help guide the campaign's future endeavors. Their principal campaign responsibilities are to work with consumer organizations and community groups, publish the print newsletter, e-mail newsletters, discussion listserv, manage the "Hollywood Initiative," maintain major portions of the Web site, and staff five committees: Diversity, Spirituality, Family, Workplace, and Financing.
