Roundtable discussion on African-American perspectives on end-of-life care
This grant provides support to Tuskegee University's Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care (The Center) for a two-day roundtable discussion on African-American perspectives on end-of-life care. The Center will convene a select group of professional caregivers, clergy, funeral directors, representatives of the criminal justice system, and academicians. The participants will be asked to discuss end-of-life issues they believe to be of utmost significance to the African-American community and to identify topics and criteria for a set of commissioned papers. These commissioned papers would serve as the framework for a future national conference and are intended to contribute to the body of knowledge in this field as well as facilitate dialogue and strategic planning for education, outreach, and research.
