Study of young, economically disadvantaged parents and their children
This grant supports a one-year, follow-up study of the Young Parenthood Project, a cross-ethnic, longitudinal study of young, economically disadvantaged parents and their children. Data will be collected from a sample of 200 young families and analyzed to identify the factors associated with positive and negative parental behaviors among young parents, the links between paternal and maternal functioning and child developmental outcomes, and ethnic differences in parental relationships and child outcomes.
