Understanding principles of older adult learning in order to increase effective communication of new health information and decision making

There is little applied research focused on understanding how elderly Americans learn, especially about health information. The underlying assumption of this project is that the process of how older adults learn differs from how children and adolescents learn. The purpose of this project is to draw on the expertise of medicine, education, psychology, and communications to strengthen education and communications on health issues for elderly Americans.
