Planning a program to counsel and treat substance-abusing domestic violence offenders and their families
The Foundation's program, New Jersey Health Initiatives, was designed to support projects in New Jersey that develop new approaches to resolving the state's health care needs, focusing on the Foundation's goal areas.The purpose of this project is to reduce the incidence of domestic violence induced by substance abuse. Probation court investigators, clergy and judges will be trained in the Duluth model, a behavioral-focused batterer intervention. A culturally appropriate implementation plan for a largely Latino population will be the outcome of the project.
