Coordination for youth tobacco cessation partnership
The purpose of this project is to coordinate the efforts of the major national funders involved in designing and disseminating effective youth cessation programs and services, and to articulate two-year and five-year strategic plans that will minimize duplication of effort and maximize potential for synergy in their joint work to develop and disseminate appealing and effective youth cessation strategies. By the end of this project, participants should be able to describe the master plan, their role(s) in and progress towards achieving it, and show evidence of collaborating effectively with the funding groups and organizations. Participating agencies and organizations include the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, the Office of Smoking and Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, each of which is committed to action to improve youth cessation options.
