Promoting implementation of state children's health insurance programs (SCHIP)

This grant supports state-based advocacy efforts encouraging maximum implementation of the new Title XXI Children's Health Insurance Programs. Funds will support technical development and implementation costs for an Internet-based clearinghouse to highlight children's coverage issues and furnish information on various aspects of how states are implementing CHIP. The Clearinghouse will provide information about emerging state-level policies and their impact on children. It is intended to document the progress of the state implementation process, highlight successful programs and approaches, and disseminate information on models for other states and communities to replicate. Information contained in the clearinghouse will be accessed by policy makers and advocate communities, and downloaded from the Web site without charge.
