Residency program to transition new nurse graduates into changing practice systems

This project will result in a model pre-service residency program for new R.N.s that will include a spectrum of clinical sites--community practices, home care agencies, nursing homes, as well as hospitals. Senior clinicians from these sites will serve as mentors and coaches. Graduates will be equipped to start their careers in integrated systems of care that serve patients across many settings. The residency will be a joint project among nursing schools and service providers in South Carolina participating in the Upstate Collaborative for Nursing Work Force Development.
