Development of a model care system to reduce or prevent disability among workers' compensation cases

The Foundation's Workers' Compensation Health Initiative is a program of demonstration and evaluation projects aimed at containing costs and improving the quality of care provided to injured workers.This is a union-sponsored project designed to develop a state-of-the-art approach to the delivery of quality workers' compensation health care in the New York State. It will create a model in which there is provision of medical care regardless of insurance status, coupled with early diagnosis and a vigorous return-to-work/rehabilitation program.
