Technical assistance and direction for Turning Point: Collaborating for a New Century in Public Health

The program, Turning Point: Collaborating for a New Century in Public Health, was designed to transform and strengthen the public health infrastructure so that states, local communities, and their public health agencies may respond to the challenge to protect and improve the public's health in the 21st Century.This grant provide support for technical assistance and direction for the Turning Point program. Foundation funds will support the following activities: (1) establishing the National Program Office; (2) conducting National Advisory Committee and National Coordinating Council meetings; (3) planning and conducting two applicant workshops; (4) reviewing letters of intent and inviting full proposals; (5) providing technical assistance to potential grantees; (6) communicating and linking this project with other efforts to strengthen state and local public health systems; and (7) coordinating with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and their program office located at the National Association of City and County Health Officials in Washington, D.C.
