Survey on undocumented Hispanic immigrants' access to health care services

This study will contribute to an understanding of the utilization of health services by undocumented immigrants by collecting primary data via a household survey in two sites in Texas. Since there is very little objective data about the health and consumer behavior of this population, this study is expected to contribute significantly to a tempering of the public policy debate currently in process at both the national and state levels. The methodologies in this study, including the use of local interview teams from organizations known in the communities to be surveyed, are expected to test and validate ways to overcome what have traditionally been significant trust issues in data collection of this type.
