Technical assistance and direction for RWJF's IMPACS program

The Foundation's IMPACS Program - Improving Malpractice Prevention and Compensation Systems - was designed for states, health care organizations, and researchers for the development, demonstration, and evaluation of innovative mechanisms for compensating persons injured by medical care. The goal for the first year of this technical assistance and direction grant is to identify four or more sites for demonstration and/or evaluation grants that will develop model malpractice reforms. The National Program Office will serve as a clearinghouse for research results in the malpractice area that are relevant to reform, and coordinate technical assistance for Program grantees, once they are selected.
