Making the Grade: State/Local Partnerships for School-Based Health Centers

The Foundation's program, Making the Grade: State and Local Partnerships to Establish School-Based Health Centers, was designed to expand comprehensive health services for school-age children by funding school-based health centers that would be eligible for long-term support through state and local funding policies. In July 1992, the Foundation authorized $25.2 million over a five-year period to expand comprehensive health services for school-age children by funding school-based centers that would be eligible for long-term support through reorganized state and local funding policies. The Program will have two phases. In the first phase, 12 states will be eligible to receive $100,000 to support a 12- to 18-month planning period. Up to 10 states will be awarded 4-year implementation grants of up to $2 million under the second phase. This award is one of the 12 planning grants under the first phase of this national program.
