New state and city strategies in lead poisoning prevention

The purpose of this project is to enable three organizations with complementary strengths to collaborate to increase the impact of the significant federal, state, and local efforts just underway to prevent lead poisoning in children. The three organizations providing this technical assistance will be the National Center for Lead-Safe Housing, the Alliance to End Childhood Lead Poisoning, and the Conservation Law Foundation. These organizations are, respectively, experts in lead hazard abatement in housing; in federal health, housing, and environmental policy regarding lead; and in developing state and local strategies to prevent lead poisoning. The grant provides two years of technical assistance primarily to help states and cities develop and manage comprehensive, coordinated childhood lead poisoning prevention programs. The National Center for Lead-Safe Housing will provide overall project coordination and oversight.
