Developing a management information system for school-based health centers
The Foundation's School-Based Adolescent Health Care Program was designed to strengthen the capacity of communities and families to meet the multiple health and health-related needs of adolescents by utilizing local public secondary schools as a principal locus of care. This grant supports the continued development of a Management Information System (MIS) for school-based clinics. The MIS will assist the projects funded under the Foundation's School-Based Adolescent Health Care Program to collect detailed process and outcome information on clinic visits. Distribution of the MIS system to the program's 18 sites will enhance the individual centers' billing capacity, and facilitate the collection of uniform multi-site data. Funds will be used to provide technical support and regional training sessions for Foundation grantees using the enhanced MIS.
