Hospital-Based Rural Health Care Program

The Foundation's Hospital-Based Rural Health Care Program was designed to strengthen the ability of rural hospitals to provide high quality care and to promote the financial viability of these institutions.The purpose of this project is to continue to: (1) improve medical staff retention; (2) recruit physicians; and (3) reduce recruitment costs for rural hospitals in Montana. The grantee expects to recruit and place at least 10 new physicians and to retain approximately 80 percent of the physicians placed since 1987.
