Program to Strengthen Primary Care Health Centers

The Foundation's Program to Strengthen Primary Care Health Centers is aimed at improving the small health center's overall management and stability. This grant will enable the Clinic to: (1) increase the ratio of insured to uninsured patients by hiring an eligibility worker to assist uninsured patients with enrollment in public or private insurance programs available to them; (2) maximize the level of reimbursement from third parties by assessing and revising the current fee schedule, charging and collection policies; and (3) strengthen the center's management information capabilities by assessing and improving its accounts receivable system. Patient encounters for the three years are projected to increase from 17,200 to 23,400 and patient fee revenue is projected to rise from $1,447,200 to $2,329,616 for the same period.
