Technical assistance and direction for the Strengthening Hospital Nursing program
This initiative, Strengthening Hospital Nursing: A Program to Improve Patient Care, jointly funded with Pew Charitable Trusts, was designed to encourage hospitals to undertake institution-wide restructuring in order to provide better patient care by improving nursing services.This grant supports costs related to the technical assistance and direction for the Foundation's program: Strengthening Hospital Nursing: A Program to Improve Patient Care. Some of the activities include participating in site visits, convening Advisory Committee meetings, developing training programs, providing direction to grantee hospital/consortia, and selection and monitoring the planning and implementation phases of the Program. The Foundation is supporting two-thirds of the budget and Pew Charitable Trusts will support one-third. The Program Director is Barbara Donaho, Vice President for Nursing and Patient Services, Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
