Social isolation as a factor in functional recovery from hip fracture

The Foundation's Research and Development Program to Improve Patient Functional Status was designed to stimulate projects focusing on the problems and illnesses that can significantly impair infants, children, and adults.Social isolation may impede functional recovery from acute illness and injury. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of medical care-social support upon functional status of elderly patients experiencing hip fractures.
