Evaluation of family dysfunction as a factor in moderate infant growth failure
The Foundation's Research and Development Program to Improve Patient Functional Status was designed to stimulate projects focusing on the problems and illnesses that can significantly impair infants, children, and adults. This investigator has observed that minor infant growth failure occurs in families during periods of psychosocial stress. This dysfunction is reflected in disturbed infant feeding and subsequent failure of the child to attain normal growth levels. This study will attempt to document the relationships between moderate infant growth failure and family dysfunction so that appropriate nutritional interventions and family counseling can be provided.
