In recent years, some cities, counties, and states have started to see their childhood obesity rates go down. Places that are taking a comprehensive approach are making progress.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has pledged an additional $500 million to helping all children grow up at a healthy weight. Building on an earlier commitment in 2007, RWJF will have dedicated $1 billion to reversing the childhood obesity epidemic.
We're making good progress in the fight against childhood obesity, but it'll take a good old-fashioned mix of all of us to reverse the trend.
