About This Collection
The Health Insurance Exchange Comparison (known as HIX Compare) provides nationally comprehensive raw data and overviews on all plans offered in the health insurance marketplaces.
The briefs compare variation in plan deductibles, copayment and coinsurance amounts, and unique plan design features, as well as insight into which health insurance exchange features are most effective and which factors explain state variation.
The datasets were collected from primary sources such as statutes and other regulatory decisions, official gubernatorial press releases, and other reliable news sources.
Materials in this collection were produced first by Breakaway Policy Strategies, and by Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, and now by Manatt through grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Note: If you are using the datasets for research purposes, please include proper citation for the data, which are provided on each dataset's page. Datasets may be combined as implementation moves forward; the date the datasets were last updated, which is specified on each dataset's page.
