Tools for Continuous Quality Improvement

Continuous quality improvement (CQI) is the process-based, data-driven approach to improving the quality of a product or service. It operates under the belief that there is always room for improving operations, processes, and activities to increase quality.

In 2005, many stakeholders—including leaders and participants in CQI initiatives and evaluation efforts—joined in a national effort to advance the science of CQI research and improve our ability to evaluate programs that employ a CQI strategy to improve health and health care.
