Advancing the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, 2013

This grant furthers the AARP Foundation charitable mission as defined in section 170(c)(2)(B) of the Internal Revenue Code, through a subcontract with the Center to Champion Nursing in America (CCNA) at AARP, which will continue implementation of the Future for Nursing: Campaign for Action. Over the past two years, the Campaign has focused on raising the visibility of the Institute of Medicine's report The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health and building infrastructure that will facilitate the implementation of the report's recommendations. CCNA has laid the groundwork during these initial phases of implementation. CCNA will enter a third phase of the Campaign focused on strategic activation and partnership development, while continuing visibility and infrastructure building activities. As sustainability is vital to this work, CCNA will provide technical assistance to State Action Coalitions as they work toward this goal, including help with state-level fund raising. AARP Foundation will not use RWJF funds for lobbying and has demonstrated that AARP will provide sufficient support for any lobbying activities related to the activities of CCNA.
