The grant will help Voices of September 11th (Voices) establish the Center of Excellence (Center) for long-term support in response to acts of violence and natural disasters. The grant's deliverables will include: (1) evaluation of the enhanced support model, a promising continuity-of-care program based on social work practices to address evolving long-term needs of families experiencing trauma; (2) continuation of class training and education for undergraduate and graduate social work students, developed in 2010 with Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; and (3) website improvements to enhance search, audio/video, and social-media capabilities. The Center will establish itself as a trusted national source of information on effective approaches to bereavement and for guidance on service coordination for victims' families and survivors. The Center will establish partnerships with experts on related subject matter, universities, corporations, responder organizations, and government agencies.
