Building and fostering the field of public health services and systems research, 2012-2014
This grant supports AcademyHealth in conducting activities that will grow and strengthen public health services and systems research (PHSSR), a field of study that examines public health organization, financing, service delivery and effects on health. Deliverables will include: (1) supporting and expanding AcademyHealth's Public Health Systems Research Interest Group; (2) integrating PHSSR with AcademyHealth's Annual Research Meeting and National Health Policy Conference; (3) providing training on PHSSR methods and research design through workshops and webinars; (4) holding a meeting to convene researchers and thought leaders to identify data gaps and recommendations for addressing data needs; (5) developing reports on meeting summaries, recommendations, evaluations, and project progress; and (6) developing a final narrative synopsis. AcademyHealth will collaborate with the National Coordinating Center for PHSSR and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to ensure this project leverages opportunities and engages key stakeholders.
