This contract supports retired Brig. Gen. Rhonda Cornum, PhD, MD, as a consultant to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on "Building a database with the U.S. Army to assess the effects of health assets on illness, expenditures and health." Under that earlier grant, the University of Pennsylvania will work with the U.S. Army to use its databases. Cornum will serve as a liaison between the civilian academics and the military administration, facilitating the relationships. She will also provide oversight on the project and guidance to the Foundation as it develops. Cornum will participate in meetings, review and comment on documents, help Penn and Foundation staff navigate the relationship with the Army, and provide regular updates to Foundation staff.
