Completing an evaluation of the Voluntary Universal Healthcare Identification system
An earlier project, "Testing a system of voluntary patient identification associated with health records to improve outcomes and reduce costs" was completed, but no outside evaluation was done because the grantee, the Long Beach Network for Health, declared bankruptcy. An evaluation is important to capture the successes and failures of the program. Areas to be evaluated under this grant support include organizational issues, technical feasibility, and participation by both health care providers and patients.
