This grant supports the Campaign for Healthy Kids (CHK) in providing strategic consultation, advocacy and communications expertise to state-level coalitions and advocates who are advancing policies aligned with the priorities of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in reversing the epidemic of childhood obesity. CHK will leverage existing state advocates and resources and coordinate with other RWJF projects to identify opportunities for policy change and to strengthen existing coalitions for running successful campaigns. CHK will focus its efforts on one to three of RWJF's policy targets and will provide support to at least three successful statewide policies to control obesity enacted by September 2013. It will also maintain a clearinghouse of specialized advocacy-oriented communications and data resources. The grantee will not use RWJF funds for lobbying.
