This grant supports the development of health care-related content for the Philanthropy Roundtable's quarterly magazine, Philanthropy, and its annual meeting sessions. The Philanthropy Roundtable aims to help donors achieve their philanthropic intent through private-sector solutions. Its goal is to help donors advance freedom, opportunity and personal responsibility in America and abroad. This project applies the Roundtable's mission of achieving philanthropic excellence to the areas of public health and health care practice and policy. Over a two-year period, the Roundtable will publish four health care-related articles on topics such as improving the quality of hospital care or promoting healthy lifestyles, and design relevant sessions for its annual meetings. More than 400 donors typically attend the conference, and the magazine has a circulation of 5,200. The Roundtable will track outcomes including: whether donors who were not investing in health-related areas decide to do so as a result of information they gain from the Roundtable; or whether major national funders attend the health-related conference sessions and explore new funding partnerships or networks. The Roundtable is solely approaching the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for support of health-related content, providing a good vehicle through which the Foundation can promote priority issues that may interest its members.
