Supporting the Just and Fair Schools Fund in working to end harsh discipline policies and practices in schools

This grant supports the Just and Fair Schools Fund (the Fund), as a contributor with other funders, in supporting local and statewide public-policy campaigns to accelerate the reversal of zero-tolerance, "harsh" school-based discipline policies, which are widening the achievement gap for young people of color. To do this, the Fund will provide funding to match local dollars in existing campaigns, identify and provide technical assistance to those campaigns, and increase donor participation in the fund to increase the overall investment in and diversity of the fund. The grantee will not use Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funds for lobbying activities.
