The Foundation's program, ChildObesity 180: Reverse the Trend, was designed to coordinate and catalyze action among high-profile leaders and organizations to reverse the epidemic of childhood obesity.Under this grant, in its second and third years of funding, ChildObesity180, which has taken a leadership role in addressing the need for collaboration in the field of childhood obesity prevention, will further cultivate the engagement of national leaders from multiple sectors; expand its innovative organizational model to support the strategic planning and implementation of large-scale initiatives; develop, implement, and evaluate a diverse and coordinated portfolio of initiatives; and initiate strategic partnerships with both traditional and nontraditional organizations to maintain and sustain its impact. As specific deliverables, ChildObesity180 will develop and implement six to eight innovative initiatives to accelerate and increase impact in its priority areas of children's access to healthier foods, physical activity, marketing to children, and eating out in restaurants, all with a focus on children ages 5 through 12 and with particular attention to the most at-risk and underserved populations. ChildObesity180 will not use Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funds for lobbying.
