The Foundation's initiative, New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids: Communities Making a Difference to Prevent Childhood Obesity, was designed to support a four-year major initiative to seed community and state partnerships to prevent childhood obesity in New Jersey.This grant will support year 4 goals and activities of the NJ Partnership for Healthy Kids (NJ PHK). The goals include: (1) implementing the communications strategy, (2) implementing state program office strategic plan, (3) launching the partnership website, and (4) tracking policy and environmental change. Activities will include continuing the successful implementation of local partnership strategies, maintaining quarterly State Advisory Council meetings and monthly project director meetings, working with an evaluation consultant to provide evaluation technical assistance to the target cities and finalizing the sustainability plan. Deliverables include: (1) completed NJ PHK website, (2) regularly updated Strategy Implementation charts, (3) an evaluability study and (4) a State of the State Obesity Conference in partnership with Rutgers University and the State Department of Health.
