Conducting the next phase of a formative and impact evaluation of More Than Wheels
This grant supports the formative and impact evaluation of More Than Wheels, a program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation since 2007. This evaluation will build upon earlier evaluation work (conducted by a different grantee) that provided preliminary evidence that the program improved credit-rating scores, financial-management knowledge and behaviors, and the mental/physical health of participants. In this next phase of evaluation, the grantee will use both quantitative and qualitative methods to revise the More Than Wheels' theory of change; distil how different elements of the program work and the relationship of program elements to outcomes; determine the impact of the program on participants' financial literacy, credit scores, health and well being; and cull lessons from the work that can be used to expand and broaden the program's impact. Deliverables will include an updated theory of change, a final evaluation report appropriate to share externally, and interim evaluation memos (every six months) focused on progress and early findings.
