The Center for Applied Research (CFAR) planned, convened and facilitated a group of 12 leaders in medicine and nursing over the last year in an effort to seek a consensus document on interprofessional collaboration. A consensus was not obtained, but CFAR staff conducted intensive interviews of all participants and four members of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation staff to determine lessons learned and options for next steps. An extensive set of documents used in the consensus process, including the interview results, has been collected and consolidated, and will serve as the major deliverable of this project. CFAR staff will conduct a final three-hour, in-person meeting to review results and lessons learned and suggest options for next steps. The Foundation will benefit from this "after action" report and meeting and will incorporate lessons learned while continuing its work on interprofessional collaboration.
