This funding will support Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) in challenging the status quo in philanthropy by increasing foundations' adoption and application of best practices that deepen their relationships with grantees and foster the strength and success of nonprofit organizations. This grant will enable GEO to maintain and expand learning, research, convening and publication activities that foster knowledge and behavior change among grantmakers. As deliverables, GEO will: (1) promote innovation in philanthropic practice through convening and networking activities; (2) boost engagement with GEO's core ideas through in-person presentations, webinars, and improved online and social-media outreach; (3) build knowledge through more peer-to-peer learning, dissemination of expert publications, and hosting of workshops in person and remotely; and (4) advance change through new action-learning offerings that will engage 100 grantmakers. Ultimately, GEO aims to see more grantmakers engaging stakeholders more meaningfully, embracing evaluation as a learning and improvement strategy, and supporting collaborative problem solving.
