This project will design a user-driven, social-improvement network focused on quality improvement in regional health care with the aim of connecting regional stakeholders and organizations to cooperatively share and spread knowledge and expertise. Deliverables will include: (1) a scan and assessment of three items: existing sources of content related to quality improvement in regional health care, efforts to network individuals and organizations for regional improvement including approaches that have succeeded and failed, and the landscape of current social-networking tools and technology; (2) an analysis of how potential network participants will likely encounter and respond to elements of the social network; (3) a logic model representing a theory of action for developing the network; (4) a design concept and preliminary detailed design for the network; and (5) an execution plan and communications strategy for transitioning to the next phase of the network's development. The entire process will include reviews by and consultations with the Foundation. Branding for this entire effort will require ongoing discussions between the Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
