Assessing what coverage options small businesses intend to pursue under the Affordable Care Act
Under this grant, Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., the grantee, will conduct a study of small business owners to learn their views regarding provisions for health insurance exchanges under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and how those provisions may affect their coverage offers. Specifically, the grantee will (1) conduct a telephone survey of small-business owners in five State Health Reform Assistance Network states, and (2) conduct, in one specific market in each state, open-ended telephone interviews with: (a) small groups of owners, (b) small-group insurers, and (c) Chamber of Commerce representatives. Deliverables will include a report on the comparative state findings, a separate brief for each state, and a public-use dataset.
