Conducting a formative evaluation of the public health systems and services research program

This grant supports a formative evaluation of investments by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in public health systems and services research (PHSSR). Focusing on the main components of those investments, the Urban Institute evaluators will take a retrospective look at the impact of current and prior PHSSR efforts to inform and shape the direction of future investments. With guidance from staff at RWJF, the evaluation team will review program documents and conduct surveys, interviews, site visits, and case studies to gather information for the evaluation. The team will share results of the evaluation at several intervals throughout the process and will synthesize final results in a report and share them at the 2013 Keeneland Conference.
