Supporting planning for and the launch of the Open Health Data Consortium to facilitate the use of government health data

This funding will support planning and launch activities for the Open Health Data Consortium, a group of organizations that will work to facilitate the emergence of a health-data ecosystem in America. Deliverables will include a strategy document that includes metrics of success; a memo laying out four to five options for a legal structure; creation of an internal communications infrastructure; development of an external-facing website; exploration of revenue sources and development of a business model; recommendations for near- and long-term staffing; development of a request for proposals (RFP) to select a firm to handle Web development and communications; development of an RFP to identify a group to manage the effort long term; and support during a transition for the firms to be selected to handle communications and management.
